Alagna
is history and culture too. Alagna is a harmonious
whole of small villages once inhabited by one
of the most fascinating ethnic minority: the Walser.
Coming from the Vallese region, from which the
name "walliser", after reduced into
"Walser".
During more than seven centuries, the population
of Alagna has maintained unchanged their language,
culture and above all architecture. This last
one is exclusive in the utilisation of materials
as wood and stone.
Without geographical boundaries, the Walser community
is certainly the most characteristic culture of
the Alps.
